What is HYSSOP?
HYSSOP refers to a group of herbal plants that could first be grown in the Mediterranean. Its use is numerous - it can be a herb used for spices, but is more often used in medicines. Farmers enjoy Hyssop varieties because they attract bees and provide Surrer ways of crop pollination. The flowers that bloom at the end of May are quite nice and any variety of this plant can be a nice accessory to the wild garden. It could have been part of the bitter herbs used in Jewish ceremonies Passover and there is a biblical reference to the plant. When Jesus is given a sponge soaked with wine during its crucifixion, the fungus is offered on the stem of the HYSSOP. The leaves can be about 1-2 inches (2.54-5.08 cm). Bulkon-shaped and can be torn out of the stem for use in different applications. As an aroma, HYSSOP can be used in small quantities to flavor soups, stews or meat. Several leaves can make a nice accessory to herbs or wild salads.
In herbal medicine, HYSSOP is often used as cough or cold treatment and can be found in herbal teas made for this purpose. You may want to taste these teas with a little honey because they can be bitter. It may also have anti -inflammatory properties and some apply the tincture of herbs to cuts, scratches or bruises.
You should use care if you enjoy tinctures or essential oil internally, as it can cause cramps in large doses. Although it should not be offered to children, adults will find these tinctures when they are accepted at the appropriate doses that are useful in support of relaxation. You can grow a Hyssop in most USA areas where it prefers full sun and sandy soil. Seeds and/orCuts can produce new plants. Some varieties are perennials and therefore do not need annual planting. Other decorative varieties may require annual planting and if you live in colder areas, you may need to plant perennials.
You can also find this plant grown among grapes in the winery. It is assumed that it increases the production of grapes. In the spring, it is difficult not to notice the plants because it produces a bright blue to purple flower, which is known for the attractors of butterflies and cabbage.
