What is an American dietetic association?

The American Dietary Association (ADA) is currently the largest nutritional organization in the world. It was originally founded in 1917 in Cleveland in Ohio by a group of women. Their mission was to help the government during the First World War with food protection and improving the health of Americans.

From its modest beginnings in 1917, Ada has grown to more than 68,000 members. This membership consists of approximately 75% of registered dietologists (RDS) and 4% of dietary technicians registered (DTRS). The rest of the membership includes scientists, teachers and students. Almost half of all members have advanced titles.

The requirement for minimal education for registered dietologists is a bachelor's degree. Dietary technicians, registered, require minimally associated with the title. The course must be approved by the American Dietary Association, as the government recognizes its role in the educational process through the Commission accreditation for teaching dietetics (CADE). Cade is an accrediting agency for educational programs for dietaryprofessionals.

ADA is led by the Board, which consists of national leaders in food, nutrition and health. The mission of the Association is to "seize members to become the leading of national food and nutrition". Their vision is "optimize the health of the nation through food and nutrition."

The American Dietary Association achieves its goal to improve the health of the nation through a number of resources. It maintains a website with information and position papers for the public with special content available only to members. ADA also has professional educational programs accredited through CADE. They produce a number of publications, with their most visible title being Journal of American Dietetic Association . This periodical is a monthly economic full of reviewed articles of dietary scientists and practitioners. The American Dietary Association currently has two primary offices - one in Chicago, Illinois and one in Washington, D.C. Maintaining the office D.C. It increases their communication efforts and influence on the government.
