What Is a Peptide Sequence?
Tandem mass spectrometers can directly determine the sequence of peptides. The peptide is dissociated in the collision cell of the mass spectrometer or passed through the adjacent sequence ion change after the source, and the peptide fragment is broken at the amide bond and a series of fragment peaks are generated. The quality is poor, and the sequence of amino acids can be deduced, which is called peptide sequence tag technology (PST).
