What is Fusion Man?

Fusion Man is the nickname of Yves Rossy, a Swiss pilot, inventor, aviation enthusiast and former fighter pilot for the Swiss Air Force. Fusion Man became famous on December 19, 2006, when he became the first person to build and fly the wing driven by an engine. Built with the help of sponsors such as the Swiss company Watch Company Hublot, took the construction of $ 190,000 (USD) and several years. The first flight of Fusion Man Fusion Man was held in Bex, Switzerland and lasted six minutes. Its wings were carbon fibers and had a wing of about 8 ft (2.4 m). The device was powered by four small nozzle engines with petron anxes, which are usually designed for model aircraft. To protect himself from the temperature of the jet engines, Rossy wore a heat -resistant suit similar to those worn by firefighters and drivers of racing cars. After his 2006 flight, Rossy claimed to be "the first person to gain altitude and maintain a stable horizontal flight thanks to the aerodynamic carbonuldable wings."Since the end of the age of 20, the Fusion Man was the first person to connect the wings and used them for a horizontal flight.

In his 2006 flight, the Fusion Man used as a point of the Pilatus PC-6 propeller. He jumped out of the plane with folded wings and wings spread when he entered free fall, and then began a horizontal flight, gained several hundred feet of altitude and reached 160 mph. After flying for 6 minutes 30 seconds, he opened a parachute that served as a break, and then hovered safely to the ground. Rossy would then be involved in more than 30 training flights between the end of 2006 until 14 May 2008, when he would make his first public flight before the World Media.

Rossy 14. May was also held in Bex, and this time amused a crowd and media with a loop loop and long turns. Fektrol of light was achieved purely by means of his body and two hand stranglesCOMPLETERS - no other control features were required. Rossy rose above the Swiss Alps and crossed the Rhone valley and reached an altitude of 2,600 ft (790 m). Shots of his amazing flight captured audience around the world.

26. September 2008 Rossy again impressed the world by crossing the English channel (21 miles or 34 km wide) in 9 minutes 7 seconds using its jet package. This brings historic flights, such as the English channel intersection from 1785 in Jean-Pierre Blanchard and 1909 on the Louis Blariot plane. He reached 186 mph at the highest speed and traveling 125 miles / h at the time he released his parachute. For his future Fusion Man plans he says he wants to fly in his jetpack via Grand Canyon.
