What Is Integrated Logistics Support?

Integrated Logistic Support (ILS) is a new management idea and working method first proposed by the US military in the 1960s. The guiding ideology of this method is to simultaneously carry out equipment support management and technical activities during the equipment development process. At the beginning of equipment design, determine the best supportability requirements, carry out supportive design, and consider the main equipment support issues simultaneously. When the main equipment is delivered to the army for use, it obtains various support resources required for equipment support, and provides the required support for equipment at the lowest cost during the use phase [1] .
