On February 21 last year, the fourth edition of the Quzhou Evening News published a message, "Zhou Xiangyang: A Dictionary of Jiangshan Dialect." Now, after more than a year of hard work, Zhou Xiangyang's "Dictionary of Jiangshan Dialect" has finally completed its first draft.
Yesterday I was in Zhou Xiangyang's office in the lotus all the way downtown. He showed reporters the "Jiangshan Dialect Dictionary" just printed, and each page was printed on A4 paper, with a total of about 600 pages.
Opening the dictionary, Zhou Xiangyang began to read to reporters. He said: "The Jiangshan dialect is difficult to understand because there are many syllables that cannot be read in Chinese Pinyin." After more than ten years of research, Zhou Xiangyang finally found 183 special syllables, almost all of which were created by himself, but in order to find a certain scientific basis, Zhou Xiangyang borrowed Japanese pronunciation when creating these special syllables of Jiangshan dialect. The compilation and layout of the entire "Jiangshan Dialect Dictionary" is in full accordance with the "Modern Chinese Dictionary" model.
Zhou Xiangyang told reporters that back in 1989, he was still in high school. "I started to promote Putonghua when I was studying. Many children don't know how to say 'Jiangshan Dialect'. I think language is a culture, so I thought about saving 'Jiangshan Dialect' in words." Zhou Xiangyang said, "I still have a letter I wrote to my family when I was in high school. I told my mother in the letter that I would start studying the Jiangshan dialect." So to be exact, his research on Jiangshan dialect It should have started since then, and it has been 20 years now.
Zhou Xiangyang said, "In the past 20 years, my mother is most grateful for the motivation and courage she gave me. At the same time, because my mother and I are Jiangshan people, we all use Jiangshan dialect to communicate. So many language confusions, I often ask my mother. It can be said that this book is dedicated to my mother, so when the dictionary is published in the future, I will write a sentence on the title page of the book, That is to dedicate this book to my mother.
