What is the brain fever?

brain fever concerns any condition that causes the brain or any part of the brain to become inflamed, causing fever as one of the symptoms. The conditions that are described as brain fever include meningitis and encephalitis. Meningitis is an inflammation of membranes that obscure the brain and spinal cord, while encephalitis is an inflammation of the brain itself. Viral infection is the most common cause of meningitis. Symptoms of meningitis include fever, headache and stiffness in the throat. Patients sometimes mistake meningitis symptoms of flu symptoms. The whole meningitis, whether viral, bacterial or fungal, is medically serious and requires rapid treatment by a doctor, but bacterial meningitis is the most dangerous of three and represents medical emergency.

Brain inflammation, also known as Encephanititje, usually caused by an infection that is of viral nature. Encephalitis may sometimes disappear by itself, but because it may be potentially serious, any person who experiences the brain symptoms should be a feverKy, seek care for a doctor. Symptoms of encephalitis include fever, joint pain and fatigue. Severe infection can cause symptoms such as seizures, personality changes and localized paralysis.

The diagnosis of brain fever, whether meningitis or encephalitis, usually includes a number of tests. One diagnostic procedure for both conditions is the lumbar punk or backbone tap, which includes the assembly of the cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) for analysis. In the case of bacterial meningitis, lumbar puncture can sometimes help doctors find out which specific bacteria is responsible for the condition. Meningitis can also be diagnosed with blood or X-Ray analysis or other means of display. The diagnosis of encephalitis may include procedures such as electroencephalography (EEG) or brain biopsy.

Meningitis treatment depends on what causes brain fever. If the infection is viral, doctors OBThey first recommend patients to get enough rest and fluids and take painkillers as needed. However, bacterial meningitis requires intensive treatment with strong antibiotics. The exact type of antibiotic chooses the doctor depends on the bacteria responsible for infection. Cerebrospinal fever caused by bacteria can kill a person in just a few days if not treated.

cases of encephalitis are sometimes mild and do not need any other treatment than rest, fluids and painkillers. Because encephalitis is usually caused by viruses, the treatment may be a challenge. However, when this type of brain fever is serious, doctors prescribe anti -inflammatory drugs to help alleviate intracranial pressure and swelling.
