What is testosterone undecanoate?

Testosterone undecandoate can be prescribed for the treatment of hypogonadism in men, but recently androgen have been used as male contraception. Since the age of 80, scientists have been testing testosterone changes in an effort to develop one. While this testosterone ester brings effective results in Asian men, the hormone requires that the addition of additional hormones bring the same successful results for men in other countries.

This ester of testosterone is suppressed by a follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which disrupts the signals of the required testicles to sperm production and leads to a reduction in the number of sperm. However, men usually do not experience the full effects of treatment, only after the first two or three months after the drug is taken. The numbers of sperm then remain low during treatment. The numbers generally return to normal anywhere from two to six months after the end of treatment.

Chinese scientist only combined 200 milligrams (mg) testosterone undekandoate with tea tree oil and served formula by intramuscular injection. Men receivedI periodic injections over the course of 30 months. During the first studies, 80% to 90% of men involved in the study developed the number of sperm less than one million spermitters per millilitr (ml) ejaculate. Normal sperm counts on average around 20 million sperm per ml. After three months of treatment, male contraception was 90% to 100% effective.

Later tests included 308 men who were dosed with 500 mg undekanoate of testosterone every 12 weeks. The first sperm samples indicated that 299 men had the numbers below 3 million per ml. After a year, out of 296 men, only one man impregnated his wife. Studies concerning men in other countries were less successful and generally showed only 60% efficiency.

They designed scientists and genetic mechanisms that explain why only Asian men respond well to Testosterone Undecanoate therapy but were unable to make a convincing explanation. Testosteron undecandoate wasCombined with various forms of progestin. The Neosick Men received 1,000 mg testosterone injection every six weeks. Every six weeks they also received 200 mg Norethisterone. After 32 weeks of treatment, 13 of 14 azoospermic men were or without sperm.

Testosteron undecanoate can be administered by an injection, orally or transdermal patch. It can also be applied locally, in gel form or as small pellets implanted under the skin. The patch was the least popular method because men often experienced itching, redness and blisters. The hormone was also not absorbed as easily using this method and provided inferior protection.

The side effects of undecanoate of testosterone, with or without progestin, include headaches, slight weight gain and depression. Laboratory results show that men can experience a 10 to 20 % decrease in high density lipoproteins (HDL), but an increase in hemoglobin, hematocrit and prostate levelsAbout antigen (dog).
