What are fossil fuels?

Fuel is a material that can produce heat when consuming, for example, burning. Fossil fuels, also called mineral fuels, are flammable materials that are organic, which are derived from the remains of living beings. These include coal, lignite, natural gas, peat and oil. These natural fuels are made of artificial fuels such as gasoline and kerosene. Fossil fuels may have a number of forms: methane is gas, oil liquid and coal solid.

Some fossil fuels are referred to as carbon fuel that come from plant waste. Coal fuel with the lowest carbon content is a peat, which is estimated to cover about 2% of the earth's land in wetlands known differently as swamps, miro, peat bogs, swamps and peat. Peat fuel is different from Moss peat, which is used in agriculture. It is also called brown coal, brownish or yellowish and has more moisture than coal. Located in the north of America and Germany. Are in growing order, black lignite or subbiTuminous coal, bituminous coal, semi -allowuminous coal, semi -symbol and anthracite. Note that semibituminous coal is high -quality bituminous coal, while semiantracite is anthracite coal of low degree. Of these, anthracite is the most clean carbon.

natural gas consists of gaseous hydrocarbons mixed with other ingredients. Its main component is methane, which is 80-95% of its content. Other gases include butane, ethan and propane. It is found almost in oil deposits and separately.

raw oil or oil is another fossil fuel. It is located in deposits in rock formations on the ground and extracted for use such as heating oil, gasoline and other products such as wax, manusmesis other facts about plastics, lubricants and sulfuric acid. Saudi Arabia is one of the largest producers and largest oil exporters in the world.

in 2006 was the world consumption ENergie 86% fossil fuel or their derivatives. This included 36.8% of oil, 26.6% coal and 22.9% natural gas. The remaining energy was supplied with informal fuel such as hydroelectric, nuclear energy, geothermal energy and energy generated by solar energy, tide and wind. World energy consumption increases annually.

Since the final number of fossil fuels is available, their exhaustion is a source of concerns. The fact that these fuels release pollutants such as carbon monoxide is another source of concern after burning. The possibility that their burning contributes to a global climate change or global warming was the subject of a heated debate.
