What is a power pulley?

Power Pulley is a term used to describe specially modified power pulleys designed to reduce the loss of parasitic energy in automotive engines. The pulleys are generally supplied in sets of specific models to replace all standard pulleys manufacturers on alternators, water pumping, power steering and air -conditioning units. A typical power pulley is made of lighter materials and has a slimmer profile than a standard unit bound to the manufacturer. The pulleys may also differ slightly in the outer diameter with an associated reduction in the speed of the powered component. Although Power Pulleys increases available energy evaluation for any engine, their use is often controversial due to problems that may occur due to deviations from the manufacturer's specifications.

Any machine creates the final amount of energy and in complex systems such as automotive engines, not all are available at the intended output point of the machine. This phenomenon is the resultEM forces of Losses resulting from controlling components, which consist of engine auxiliary systems such as an alternator, a power steering unit and air conditioning pump. This is known as the parasitic loss of energy and it is an operating reality in any automotive engine. The Power pulley is part of the market equipped as measures to obtain part of the loss of parasitic force by igniting the pulley and reducing the speed at which the component is powered.

These deviations from the manufacturer's design specifications are carefully calculated to achieve the desired result without negatively affecting the operation of the engine. This is particularly important in the case of a vehicle alternator where unacceptable changes in operating speeds can cause serious performance problems, especially at low engine speeds. Sausing weight in the production of routing is generally achieved by inclusion of materials' savings and the profiles are not included in the manufacturer's parts. SPEcally developed lightweight alloy with high strength alloy are also used in the production of pulleys as further measures to save weight.

Although the installation of a power pulley set to a vehicle is generally successful in achieving an increase in energy available, their use is often considered more dangerous than beneficial. Exclusion of the manufacturer's functions, such as harmonious shock absorbers in an effort to save weight on the main belt of power units, can cause premature failure of different engine components. Incorrect pulleys diameters that result in too slow the speed of the alternator or water pump may also have the consequences of serious performance and partial defiance. It is therefore best to customize the Power Pulley with proven results for the appropriate car model.
