- The Copenhagen climate change agreement provides an important opportunity for the world to achieve a clean energy economy and reduce the threatening effects of climate change. WWF wants to see our leaders agree on a fair, effective, and scientific climate change agreement that should include:
- Reduce global carbon dioxide emissions by 80% from 1990 levels by 2050
- Global CO2 emissions peak before 2020
- Reduce carbon dioxide emissions in developed countries by 2020 by 40% from 1990 levels
- Support developing countries, especially the most vulnerable, to take measures to adapt to climate change
- Facilitating the transition to a low-carbon economy
- Provide clean technologies to developing countries with adequate funding and capacity building.
