What is Ephedra?

Ephedra is the name of a shrub with numerous species origin from Asia. This plant is sometimes called ephedrine or Ma Huang, a source of a controversial supplement usually derived from the dried green plant. This supplement is used worldwide for various medicinal purposes, such as the treatment of colds and weight loss stimulation. In the US, the supplement was commonly sold to stimulate weight loss, increase energy and improve athletic performance. It was also found in asthma -sales drugs. In April 2004, however, food and drug administration (FDA) decided to prohibit ephedrine and stated that "the data showed little evidence of the effectiveness of the ephedry, with the exception of short -term weight loss, confirming that the substance increases blood pressure and emphasizes the heart." According to Rand Corporation, which analyzed the substance, it reveals why it was used in asthma medicines. Rand says the stimulants have the ability to release bronchial tissue, which can lead to the relaxation of the spirit.

According to Randa's finding, this supplement supported a certain short -term weight loss. If used for weight loss purposes, it is assumed that it is most effective in combination with caffeine. The same is assumed that it is true when the supplement is used to improve performance.

The

adequate large and wide scales have not been made on the efedře or on the effects it causes. However, many accusations against the substance are quite serious. These include the statement that the supplement causes heart attacks, high blood pressure and bleeding in bdéště.

Rand concluded that there is no sufficient evidence that the Ephedra would be responsible for the negative demands against him. However, society considered it remarkable that many serious adverse effects that have been accused of supplement have occurred in healthy people younger than 30.

Ephedra has been used for centuries in places like China and India, often as a treatment of colds. The controversy that surroundE supplement, leads to another remarkable point. In general, in places where the historical use of the supplement has been widely reported, the Ephedra is not used for the same purposes as in places that indicate the main problems.
