What Is Insulin Coma Therapy?

Insulin coma therapy, also known as insulin shock therapy, is a type of shock therapy. It flourished in the mid-1930s to the early 1950s. Because the curative effect is not better than that of psychotropic drugs, the operation technique is complicated, the treatment period is long, the cost is high, and serious or fatal complications may occur, resulting in fewer and fewer applications of this method.
