What is EZ Pass?

Toll booth is Nemesis of most long -distance passengers, especially in the chaotic northeast of the United States. E-ZPASS® is an attempt to maintain traffic movement, simplify toll collection and reduce the number of necessary tolls collectors. It is currently used in 13 countries, mostly in the northeast and the Midwest, and the same technology works in all of them. Ohio Turnpike is the latest to accept E-ZPass®, planning installation in 2009. Its first experimental use was on the Toll Plaza spring valley on New York State Thruway 3. August 1993. The electronic brand is mounted on a vehicle, each containing a computer chip that "speaks" with a transponder antenna in one of the designated e-zpass® stripes on Turnpike or at the entrance to the bridge or tunnel. This antenna automatically registers the passage of the vehicle and deducted from the prepaid account.

In an effort to support the use of this program, some agencies offer discounts on toll customers e-zpass® or Carpoors. A person living near the E-ZPASS® toll, who must often use it, can also get a discounted rate for this particular website. Some car rental companies began to install e-zpass® transponders on their vehicles as perk.

At the beginning, the vehicles had to slow down almost to stop to connect the antennas with the connected brand. Security considerations were obvious in a closed toll stand. In recent years, Howver, R, Turnpikes and Bridges have begun to install "Express E-Zpass®" lanes on the outer circuit of toll stand structure, allowing vehicles to turn on with minimal speed reduction.
