What is myelin protein?

myelin protein is one of several different proteins that commonly occur with myelin, an important substance in the nervous system. These proteins, along with a mixture of other chemical building blocks, give Myelin the ability to block, insulate and channels of electrical pulses. The healthy human body produces two different varieties of myelin and each contains a somewhat different combination of proteins. The lack of myelin protein or the loss of this substance can cause several different conditions stemming from the wrong functioning of the nervous system.
