What is a business association?

Business associations are organizations that create funds for enterprises involved in the industry to interact in the mutual benefit of all involved. The commercial association, financed by membership companies, often acts as a means of strengthening the public image of this industry in general or provides a unified voice to lobby on matters of legal regulations for which this sector is expected to have an impact. Along with these two important features, the trade association can also provide a forum for education to the general public about the industry and its main products.

In many cases, a business organization is established as a non -profit organization. This type of business organization allows companies involved in the same industry to cooperate on common concern issues. Business organization to some extent helps protect the integrity of industry in that normally set standards that all members have to follow to be consideredin good condition. Failure to comply with the standards set and maintained by a group of peers operating a business association can lead to exclusion from the association and lose great credibility in the eyes of the purchasing public.

Together with lobbying, marketing and educational efforts, a business association often sponsor conferences for member companies. The conference usually focuses on improving the general function of the industry by providing information that every conference participant can absorb and return to the company level. Almost every business or business association sponsor at least one conference or assembly every year.
