In order to strengthen the intervention of AIDS in this group and develop the participation of volunteers in the intervention work, on June 26, the Jiashan County Center for Disease Control and Prevention organized a gay HIV training and outreach intervention through volunteers.
Two AIDS prevention and control professionals and 13 gay men from the county CDC participated in the event. First of all, the staff of the county CDC introduced the purpose, significance and main content of the event to the gay men participating in the event. Regular testing plays an important role in protecting the health of gay men and their families. By communicating with gay men, the staff has greatly eliminated the gap between them and enabled them to speak freely, further deepening our understanding and understanding of gay men. Secondly, the staff explained the basic knowledge of AIDS prevention and treatment to the gay men, and focused on the transmission of AIDS, why men and men are more likely to contract HIV and STDs, how to prevent AIDS, and use condoms properly. The key to AIDS is to take personal protection measures, use condoms every time you have sex, and use condoms properly. Consultation and testing should be conducted with the disease control department within a period of 3 months. The staff explained that the gay men had a better understanding of AIDS, and realized that strengthening self-protection and actively preventing AIDS is a responsible performance not only for individuals but also for sexual partners, families, and society. The knowledge in this field is propagated in the peer circle, and more peers should be mobilized as "seeds" to cooperate with the disease control department to do a good job in HIV prevention and treatment. Finally, the staff also conducted free consultations and health questionnaires for the participating gay men at the scene, and performed blood tests on 10 of the 13 gay men.
The successful organization of this event is of great significance to the development of peer volunteers, the improvement of volunteers' ability to intervene, and the in-depth development of HIV / AIDS prevention work among gay men in Jiashan County. [1]
