What is the spelunker?

Spelunker is a person who explores the cave as a hobby. Two other terms applied to those who participate in the cave survey are caver and speleologist . However, the last two terms are generally reserved for those who have extensive training and education in the cave science. Spelunkers are usually amateurs who do not follow any specific guidelines to browse the cave passages to obtain data for scientific study. The Spelunkers, which is attracted to the secrets of unexplored and uncharted, are looking for caves for their own pleasure and not necessarily with regard to specific goals. The SAC organizes cave clubs that support the preservation of caves, interest in the science of cave and progress in the studio of caves. These clubs are also planning cave trips that allow a safer survey, like a lonely spelunker. It is always best to have a sufficiently large group to allow some to stay outside the cave so that the participants inside the cave do not get into trouble and do not require rescue.

Safety is the primary problem for Spelunkers. The greatest risks fall, affected by the falling object and hypothermia. The caves are dark and often wet, so the surfaces are slippery and the range of vision. This means that the Spelunker must move carefully and intentionally and ensure that the right shoes and equipment are always worn. To reduce the risk of injuries from falling objects, a helmet is required and warm clothing is necessary if the Spelunker separates from the group and stuck in a cold cave for a longer period of time before originally expected. Spelunkers should also be sure that they will bring a set of first aid, food, water and light.

Some of the basic principles of safe and responsible cave surveying should consist of groups of four to six spelunkers, set the deadline before entering the cave and telling other parties about the cave road. Spelunkers must be in relatively good condition because many caves require climbedPressing by tight passages and sometimes using ropes to descend into the pit. The new Spelunkers should always include more experienced caves in the group and start with familiar caves that have less likely to have surprising obstacles. Most importantly, the new Spelunkers should remember to stay in the group at all times.
