What is Achilles tendon?
Achilles tendon, also called degenerative tendinopathy, is a gradual degeneration and worsening of Achilles tendon. Achilles tendon begins with small tears in the connective tissue in Achilles tendon and around it. These tears, not if allowed to heal, eventually cause the tendon to lose its structure and swell. Paratenone, covering the Achilles tendon, which provides lubrication and blood flow to the tendon, then becomes inflamed and there is a pain.
The longest tendon in the body, Achilles tendon, connects the calf muscle and bones on the heel. Achilles tendon is sometimes called "tendon on the heel". The tendon allows you to raise the heel from the ground while walking.
most often caused by excessive use of Achilles tendon usually develops due to repeated activities or sudden increase in activity by tendon. The body is not able to repair small tears that occur because the tendon is constant emphasized from the use. As a result, athletes are particularly prone to Achilles tendons. Achilles tendon can also occur from wearing certainBoot types, if the wearer is genetically susceptible to problems with Achilles tendon.
Achilles tendon symptoms include pain inside the tendon, especially after a period of rest and problems with walking or climbing. The tendon could increase and the knots sometimes evolve in an area where the tissue is damaged. The diagnosis involves evaluating the condition of the tendon and the extent of the patient's movement along with X -rays and other imaging tools.
Achilles tendon treatment can range from home care to surgery. Immobilization is almost always recommended and castings or walking can be used to reduce stress on the tendon when they heal. LEDs and medicines such as ibuprofen are used to reduce pain inflammation. Night splints are also used in treatment to stretch the tendon as well as physical therapy. In some cases, orthotic treatment is used and the wedge of the material increases the heel to reduce the pressure on the tendon runhem walking.
If the condition does not answer, surgery may be performed to extend the Achilles tendon. Radiofrequency Ablation Topaz is a newer method of treatment that is used to stimulate an inflammatory reaction inside the tendon and the start of the natural healing process. Another method of treatment of Achilles tendon is plasma injections rich in platelet, during which the patient's own plasma collects and injures to Achilles tendon to support healing.
