What is latah?
latah is a health condition in which the suffering have an unusual reaction when their frightened reflex triggers. Many of them seem to enter the type of trance characterized by recurring movements and sounds. The latah is known as a syndrome specific to culture or culture. This means that it is only recognizable in certain cultures or areas. In this case, latah is usually present only in the countries of Southeast Asia. Everyone has a surprising reflex that causes us to respond to certain unexpected stimuli. When a frightened reflex is running, the body reacts a certain way. Many people jump and maybe scream and their blood pressure and heart rate will go up for a few seconds.
The latah, most of which are women, react very differently when they are frightened. When latah patients are triggered, many observers say they seem to enter into trance. Most begin to repeat certain words, gestures or phrases.
Lata is usually echofraxy and echolalic. Echofraxia is when a person copies the movements of people around her while echolalia occurs when one copies the language of people around her. Both of these conditions are considered completely involuntary, which means that the suffering cannot stop in it. Those who study latah believe that suffering from this conditions do not really realize what they are doing. Most of them do not have a memory of what they did during these episodes, so they are usually not responsible for what they did.
In many areas where this condition is present, the community is often accepted or even received by latah. It is not unusual that members of the Malaysian village deliberately evoke someone who suffers from latah. It seems that the reaction provides entertainment and ribs and other shenanigans at the expense of latah patients.
Culture -specific syndromes are very controversial and rare disorders. The suffering of these types of disorders usually have nothing physically bad, but still show both mental and physicalthe characters. Many scientists now believe that these disorders are not caused by anything physical, but are reflected in what is acceptable and unacceptable in a certain culture.Other cultures of specific syndromes present in Southeast Asia include Amok and Koro. It is known that individuals with amok fly into violent and unexpected fury, sometimes seriously hurt or even kill others on their travels. Koro is characterized by the belief that the sexual organ reduces a person and eventually disappears. Heavy self -adhering to prevent this is not unusual.
