What is anxiolytic?
Anxiolytic term is now commonly replaced by the term against anxiety. Both terms concern drugs and sometimes herbs that are used to combat anxiety or panic disorder. Many anxiolytic drugs are also used to support better sleep, but primary use, as the name suggests, is to support the state of rest.
There are several classes of anxiolytic drugs. The first drugs that are now less often prescribed include different barbiturates such as fenobarbital. These tend to be highly addictive and doctors and doctors were looking for substitutes that would still support relaxation without such a high degree of addiction. One of the drugs that was tested was the medication methaqualon, also known as Quaaludes. Unfortunately, Methaqualone will soon become a popular recreational drug and tend to create drug addiction. The problem of excessive use and abuse of Quaalude was so serious at 70 years that the US government and many other governments banned its use Completly.
Another group of anxiolytic drugs are benzodiazepines. These include known names such as Valium® (Diazepam) and Xanax & Reg (Alprazolam). Although these drugs can support peace, many of them, especially aprazolam, have short half -lives. The body usually also creates tolerance to drugs, which means that long -term users may have to take more of these anxiolytic drugs to achieve the same effects. For short -term use, they can be very beneficial in carefully controlled circumstances. The doctor should assess the long -term use of any benzodiazepine and it is important to simply stop using these drugs if you have used them for a long time because this causes an extreme risk of seizures.
because anxiolytic drugs such as barbiturates and benzodiazepines carry such a high risk of addiction, scientists still looking for other medicines that could be useful to anne less risk of addiction. Some of youCHTE newer drugs fall into the selected serotonin (SSRI) or antidepressants inhibitor. In particular, Zoloft® and Paxil® were offered as potentially beneficial for people suffering from an anxiety disorder. SSRI administration must be carefully monitored, especially if a person shows the tendency of mood disorders such as bipolar I or II. SSRIS can trigger manic conditions instead of creating a calmer mind when people use people who have a bipolar disorder.
A number of herbal agents and products are considered anxiolytic, although many of them have modest evidence that would back up the demands on efficiency. These preparations include herbs such as Wort, Valerian and Heamile St. Jana. For many, Kava or Kava Kava is an effective way to reduce anxiety, and there is some research supporting the claim that Kava can be a useful anxiolytic. Although it is a natural derivation, the use of kava or any obylina should be according to the instructions of the medical physician because they are alltechnically medicines and can interact with other medicines or conditions.
