What are laurel bushes?
Laurel shrubs are plants from a number of different families. While one type is grown as a spice, many of them are grown purely for gardening value. Laurel Bay is one of the oldest cultivated plants and is mentioned in biblical and ancient Chinese and Greek writings. They prefer the sun, but they can tolerate some shadow. Though, leather leaves have a high amount of essential oils, making them a desired spice. Older leavesThey have a higher quality than younger when it comes to cooking.

These leaves, however, are poisonous for horses and cattle, but not dogs and cats. Mountain Laurel usually prefers shaded conditions with moist, acidic soil and should be fertilized once a year with a product for acidic plants.
