What is 2D animation?
2D animation is a form of animation in which the scene and characters in animation are created in 2D space rather than fully realized 3D environments. These animations can use perspective and improvement, similar to 2D static images, to create an illusion of depth, but do not use 3D computer graphic technology. This type of animation was largely established through traditional animation techniques in which the images were drawn on a clear sheet that was photographed by one images at a time to create a final animation. 2D animation can be easier to create using computer technology, although many of the techniques used in drawing animation are relatively similar.

Computer software can create a 2D image in a file that acts as a virtual "cell", and the image is usually colored with such software. Then you can create a digital background, usually in one of several different graphics programs and "Cels" can be layered after this background to create each individual frame. Although this form of 2D animation is still relatively time -consuming, animators are often a bit simpler and "forgiveness" than traditional methods.
