What is a leather fish?

There are two fish that are commonly referred to as a fishing room fish - olgoplites saurus and a wide range of fish in the Monacanthidae family. The first can be commonly found in the Gulf of Mexico and parts of the Atlantic. It usually occurs near the water in New Zealand.
