What is Persea?
Persea is a family in the Laurel family, which contains about 150 different species. These evergreens are angiosperms, which means they produce flowers. They pass in a warm climate with adequate precipitation and well -drained sandy soil.
The best known varieties are avocado. There is evidence that Persea Americano , an avocado tree endemic to Mexico has been cultivated throughout Central and South America for several thousand years. Over time, various varieties have developed in West India and Guatemale. The Western India variety produces much larger fruit that has a low oil content. These avocadas have a glossy green cover and can mature for up to 18 months due to their size. The fruit is rich in oil and contains less meat than larger plants on the islands, but also matures faster. Fruits are generally ripened during the year. Most avocadas must be planted in warm areas that rarely encounter frost. A Western India tree can be damaged if temperatures reach a freezing point while MexiSomewhat colder temperatures can tolerate and Guatemaal trees.
Avocadoes were also part of African botanical history. Fruits are used in traditional medicine as an anticonvulsive for people suffering from epilepsy and other forms of seizures. The land from seeds is studied as possible treatment of diabetes.
Persea borbonia , called Redbay after its beautiful red wood, is a species of non-frruit that grows in the southern United States. This hardwood is located in abundance along streams and in wooded areas in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Texas. The invasion of beetles brought from Asia to the shipping palette has collapsed large parts of the tree in Georgia and there is a risk that Redbay will become an endangered species.
Swamp Redbay, Persae Palustris is a related tree found in marshy areas in southern US, Mexico and onBahamas. It is a medium size tree that reaches a maximum height of about 25 feet (7.62 m). It has bright green leaves that cause a pleasant scent when crushing and are used as a replacement for European bay leaves in cooking.
More than half of the Persea come from Asia. One of them, Persea yunnanensis, also known as the Chinese avocado, produces blue fruit, which is more like olive than avocado. It is higher than many avocadas and can reach a height of 40 feet (12.19 m). The tree can grow in sunny and shady areas and is relatively resistant to drought as soon as it is determined. Although it is not endemic in the western hemisphere, it can occasionally be found in kindergartens in a warmer climate.
Persea Macrantha , anothaing Asian diversity found in the mountain areas of India is known for its folk healing value. The leaves are used to treat wounds, asthma, cough and swelling. Aromatic cortex is also a popular source for the production of incense. Demand for youHTO trees exceed the offer and in some areas of India has been placed on an endangered list.
