What is a metaphýza?

Metaphysis is an area of bone that grows during childhood. When children are born, the metaphysis consists mainly of cartilage, allowing bones to grow over time. As people grow up, the cartilage grows and slows down to solid bones. Depending on the bone and person, all long bones usually ended in growth at the age of 25 and many bones ceased to grow long before this point. Between this area and the metaphýsis lies the epiphysis board, the bone area that extends with the growth of the bone. Sometimes the epiphysis plate is considered to be part of the metaphysis. Under the metaphýsis is a diaphysis or a bone shaft that forms the main part of the bone. The fact that bones still rostnses, why children recover faster from fractures, because their bones will recover better. However, increased blood supply also comes with a problematic aspect: children can develop a number of health problems in their bones such as cancer and infections that worsen rich blood supply in metaphs.

One problem that children can experience is osteomyelitis, bone infection. Osteomyelitis spreads faster when a sufficient blood supply occurs that will carry an infection. Children can also develop bone cysts and cancer such as osteoblastoma, enchondroma and fibrosarcoma in their rapidly growing bones. Treatment of these conditions can be complicated by rapid bone growth. Bone growth disorders can also occur and lead to problems such as limb length differences.

Physical anthropologists have conducted a number of studies to investigate over time and have come to some highly accurate estimates when growth begins to slow down and stop. These estimates can be used for accurate long bones, although the rest of the body is not available because someone can explore bones, notice the development of metaphysis and epiphysis and determine how old the person is. This information is used in the exploration of modern crime and in the field of anthropology, where understanding the development of bones peopleM made it possible to estimate the approximate age at the death of ancient human populations.
