What are Archosaurs?

Archosaurs or "ruling lizards" are reptile infrared, one of the three diapsid infrared or "two -point" reptiles. Diapsides are one of the two reptiles classes, the other are anapsids, which means "without arches". The difference between diapsids and anapsids is that the latter have two holes on each side of the skull, near the temples - forced to reduce the skull weight - while anapsids have only eye holes. Today, anapsids are represented by turtles, turtles and therapins, while diapsids form all other reptiles and birds. It is not known whether living anapsids come from anapsid or diapsid ancestors.

Archosaurs, one type of diapsid, are the most famous group for having dinosaurs as their members. Archosaurs are characterized by teeth set in sockets, which make them less likely to be torn during feeding and antorbital phenestrae or openings in the head, in front of the eyes to reduce the weight of the skull. They also have mandibular phenestrae, which are small holes in the jaw, also to reduce weight and the fourth trochanter, comb to attach muscle to the femur. Some scientists consider the latest feature to be one of the most important and carelessly related to the rise of dinosaurs and the ability of early archosaurs to survive the most catastrophic mass extinction inŠech times, Permian-Tiassic Extinction, 251 million years ago.

Archosaurs and early reptiles similar to Savbam (Therapsids) developed approximately at the same time-permical era. Many believe that it could have been in two way, while mammals or reptiles have become a dominant form of life on Earth, but for several reasons, some of which could have been just a chance came to the top and mentioned at 155 million year -round dinosaurs.
