What Is a Capacitance Meter?

Notes on the use of capacitance meters

1. Please read the instruction manual carefully before using the meter.

2. Check the housing of the instrument, there should be no cracks and damages; the insulation of the test leads should be intact, no breaks, disconnections, and bare copper wires.

3. According to the measurement needs, the range function switch should be set to the correct position.

4. When the test lead is connected to the circuit under test, the black test lead should be connected first. When the test lead is separated from the circuit under test, the red test lead should be disconnected first.

5. When changing the range or function, any test lead must be disconnected from the circuit under test.

6. To avoid damaging the meter, do not enter more than the maximum value specified in each range.

7. When using the meter for measurement, never open the back cover to avoid the risk of electric shock.

8. When measuring voltages higher than 60V DC and 30V AC, care should be taken to avoid electric shock.

9. Before replacing the battery, take the test lead out of the circuit under test.

10. Do not change the internal circuit of the instrument, otherwise the instrument may be damaged and the safety may be endangered.

11. Avoid using and storing in direct sunlight, high temperature and humidity, flammable and explosive, and steam and dust.

Capacitance meter maintenance

This meter is a precision instrument. Users should not change the circuit at will.

1. Please pay attention to waterproof, dust-proof and drop-proof.

2. It is not suitable to store and use the instrument under high temperature and high humidity, flammable, explosive and strong environment;

3 Please use a damp cloth and mild detergent to clean the appearance of the meter. Do not use abrasive solvents and strong solvents such as alcohol.

4 If not in use for a long time, remove the battery to prevent battery leakage from corroding the meter;

5. Pay attention to the battery usage. When the symbol flashes on the LCD, replace the battery.

Proceed as follows:

1) Unscrew the screw that fixes the battery door on the back cover and exit the battery door;

2) Remove the 1.5V battery and replace it with two new batteries. Although any standard 1.5V battery can be used, it is best to use alkaline batteries to extend the use time;
