What are digital TV boxes?

on 13. June 2009 TV stations in the United States ceased to broadcast signals through air waves and began to transmit exclusively in digital. This transition from analog signals with free air to digital signals has been designed to improve image quality, as well as the release of channels in the transmitted spectrum to use for public security. TV content providers could be transmitted to digital channels and for most consumers the transition from digital to analog signals was considered a positive change. Digital TV boxes convert digital signals transmitted to analog signals that can be understood by existing television files.

TV views that received their TV programs via satellite or cable did not need digital television boxes because cable boxes and satellite providers have already provided digital television to their client base and/or decoding and converting digital signals for use in Televi useall the way. However, consumers whose TVs were unable to decode digital signals were threatened to lose their television service.

Although the law also required new television files to be equipped with digital converters, many older TVs do not have a digital tuner and are not able to decode signals that now come with new digital channels. Digital TV boxes have been created to solve this problem and allowed digital signals to be converted into analog signals so that older television files can still understand incoming information.

For several months before the transition in June 2009 and after switching in June 2009, the government offered coupons to consumers to allow them to obtain digital television boxes for small to any costs. Consumers were able to apply for these coupons online or by phone. The US Federal Commission for Communication offered free installation assistance to consumers who tried to install their digital television boxes.
