What is wcdma?

WCDMA means for more access access to broadband code. It is one of the main systems used for third -generation or 3G mobile communication networks. This term is often used interchangeably with UMT, which means universal mobile telecommunications systems. Technically WCDMA is just one example of UMTS technology. It was Docomo, who originally developed WCDMA. The company then successfully lobbied to be admitted as an international standard.

WCDMA is used worldwide in dozens of countries. It is most used in Asia and Europe. Outside Japan, the name UMTS is usually used for system marketing. In the United States, most mobile phone providers use only one two technologies. One of the main reasons why WCDMA has tried to win the US support is that it uses two channels, each covering 5MHz. It is a relatively large "piece" of waves that was problematic because the US slowly allocated new frequencies specifically for 3G systems.

There are several key advantages. One is that each transmitter is assigned an identification code. This means that data from multiple transmitters can be transmitted by the same frequency in the same geographical area at the same time without interference or loss of signal strength.

The system also uses energy control. This adjusts the power of the signal transmitted by each mobile phone to reach the nearest transmitter to the same power, no matter how far the phone is. This avoids the transmitters receiving signals that are too strong or weak to reduce the efficiency of the transmitter.

Another advantage is that WCDMA can deal with particularly well if there are many devices in one area. As a result, it is particularly suitable for densely populated areas, such as some of the main Asian cities. The system is also well suitable for technical requirements presented by video calls.

The main disadvantages of WCDMA are that not nesAnneal all over the world, which limits the acceptance of compatible headphones among people traveling internationally, and that it is a relatively complex system that can be expensive to introduce into a new market.
