- The Habima Theatre (Hebrew: - ) is Israel's national theater and Israel's first Hebrew theater, located in Habimar Square in the center of Tel Aviv.
- The Habima Theatre was first established in Moscow after the Russian Revolution in 1905. Because the language used in the theater performances was Hebrew, and the content of the play was mostly Jewish, it was suppressed by the Russian government. In 1918, the Habimar Theatre was under the management of the Moscow Art Theatre, marking a new stage in its development. After the Russian Revolution, the theatre, like the newly established Soviet government, faced many difficulties.
- In 1926, Habimar Theater left the Soviet Union and began foreign tours including the United States. Zemach and other actors performed with great success in New York. The repertoire they performed is mainly adapted from Jewish traditional classics, and the performance is performed in Hebrew. The theater set up its own performance agency in New York.
- In 1928, many actors in the Habimar Theatre came to Palestine under British mandate. They invited Aleksei Dikiy from the Moscow Art Theatre to direct their performance. Aleksei Decoy directed two plays at the Habimar Theatre, one in Yiddish, "My God," which premiered on December 29, 1928. The other, Crown, premiered on May 23, 1929. Under the guidance of Aleksei Decoy, the performance of the Habimar Theatre was a huge success, and it has its own fixed venue in Tel Aviv.
- In 1945, Habimar Theatre built its own theater in Tel Aviv. After 1958, the Habimar Theatre won the Israel Award and was later upgraded to the National Theatre of Israel. This is the first time the Israel Prize has been awarded to an institution.
- In the 21st century, Habimar Theatre has 80 actors and 120 staff.
