Pre-diabetes diagnosis
- Generally, to diagnose a person with diabetes, two blood glucose measurements are needed: one is called fasting blood glucose, which refers to the blood glucose measured before fasting. Monitoring of fasting blood glucose requires dinner the night before, and do not eat at night after dinner, otherwise it will affect the determination of fasting blood glucose. Another criterion is two-hour blood glucose after a meal, which means that blood glucose is measured two hours after a meal. If the fasting blood glucose is> 6.1, or the two-hour postprandial blood glucose is> 7.8, but does not meet the diagnostic criteria for diabetes, this situation is called "pre-diabetes", and this subject may become a new diabetic patient every day. The "pre-diabetes" population is a key population for preventing diabetes.
