What are Kanban systems?

Kanban systems are used to signal when it is necessary to create or order material and how much is needed. It is a type of tensile system that is based on the demand of customers and in which the materials are made only when they are needed. The Kanban system is a type of lean production and tries to have more materials than necessary. In the mid -20th century, the fire studied strategies of inventories used in supermarkets. Many supermarkets actually act as a Kanban system and have cards for each type of items sold. The fire took what he learned from supermarkets and applied to production. Most of these rules deal with ordering only what is needed to maintain the production rate as stable as possible. Whenever the defect is recorded, it must be repaired or discarded immediately. If the defective product is allowed to assemble a bly assembly, it is wasting over time and money. These visual aids are usually Kanban cards that contain name, image, code and quantity required. Kanban's cards are pantOne hundred attached to a container where they become visible as soon as the amount reaches a point where more should be ordered.

The stable level of demand is almost a requirement for Kanban systems. Companies that produce seasonal items such as snow or beach toys must adjust their numbers through the season. Otherwise there will be too much stocks and too little stock in the off -season

Kanban systems are also a tool to achieve just-in-time (JIT). The production occurs when the device has stable production. In the assembly line, each station must end exactly at the right time in the Order to move the line. Kanban systems make sure no one ever runs out of the material, so the line never stops moving.

Although the Kanban system was originally created to use Kanban cards for each item, some manufacturing devices now use other items. Other signals, such as Kanban Square or Golf Balls can be used to signal the need for more material on the workstation. Some production devices have even implemented electronic Kanban systems.
