What is the speed block?
When linking to concrete, the Mastener usually means a head joint without mortar or h-block. The speed block is a rectangular concrete masonry unit (CMU) or cement block, which is designed in the open configuration "H". These blocks differ from the standard CMU, which is usually closed and will have two or three basic holes. These whims include window and door jams, corner corner, columns, etc. Usually, speed blocks are used in the upper joints of the structure due to their lighter weight and more versatile configuration.
The normal speed block is nominally 8 inches (20.32 cm) by 8 inches (20.32 cm) by 16 inches in length (40.64 cm). Standard concrete blocks have the same dimensions and all are actually 3/8 inches (1.02 cm) less around to allow the joints of the mortar between the blocks. A common Speed Block, however, is made with language specifications and incitement, so that only small or no maltaring needs to ensure these specific blocks.
Although the speed block is recognized as a head joint, for smaller projects it is very often used in the construction of the entire wall. Due to their versatile, open construction and lighter weights, fast blocks are quickly placed. This saves time and costs for the construction of the concrete building. In addition, less mortar is needed to configure language and stimuling, resulting in significant material cost savings. The use of speed blocks is now mostly supported by architects for this reason.
All concrete blocks, including speed blocks, are usually made of Portland cement and sand or gravel aggregate. The Škvára speed block uses the ash or boiler board, the result of the burning or salting process as the main aggregate. CMU, including speed blocks, are also designed using plastic and rubber units to reduce weight and make blocks more environmentally friendly.
besidesThis can be blocks of concrete speed and standard CMU made of aerated concrete. This production process uses in proportion to less concrete than that of standard CMU and replaces most of the concrete behind the ammonium aggregate with ammonium powder. This type of cement block is a stronger, lighter unit, but compared to the typically manufactured cement block is significantly more expensive. Since the speed block has a lighter weight simply by the nature of its construction, it is sometimes used as a cheaper alternative to aerated concrete block.
