What is the energy of wood?

Any energy that comes from the use of wood as a fuel source can be referred to as wood energy. Although the term is not common, it accurately describes the source of fuel and the advantage. Wooden energy was once a dominant source of energy used in the world, but since then it has been replaced by fossil fuels in most areas. Yet there are many people who still depend on wood as a fuel source for energy in different ways.

The most common way to get energy from wood is to burn the material. Heat made of fire can be used in many different ways. It can be used as a space heating, for example by fire or fireplaces. It can also be used for cooking or even as a way to produce mechanical energy by creating steam, for example in locomotives and some power plants. This steam is then used to supply gears or turbines to produce an electric or other form of energy.

Currently, the UN estimates that the supply of wood energy of 14 percent of world -speed energy consumption. This percentage is much higher in developing countries where other natural resources or the ability to obtain fossil fuels are not so large. In such a situation, the country tends to contact the resources that are most often available, which is often wood.

Using such natural resources led the UN Food and Agriculture Program to help developing countries formulate a sustainable wood energy plan specific to the needs and supplies in these countries. This helps these countries maintain the level of energy independence, while their economies have a chance for further development. Many countries that currently use a large amount of energy are found in Sub -Saharan Africa.

The benefits of wood are numerous. In addition to being available in many different areas, wood is also considered a renewable form of energy because it can be replaced in a relatively short time. Also wood provides additional advantagesEven growth, such as animal habitat and even carbon dioxide consumption.

The use of wood energy is also criticized. Many people are afraid that the harvest of wood disturbs too much and can be used in a way that is unsustainable in some areas. In addition, even if it helps to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, burning wood inserts at least some of them back into the air.
