What is mesmerism?

Mesmerism is a term used to describe the form of healing developed in the 17th century. He was created by a German physician and astrologer Franz Mesmer and was built on a concept that called "animal magnetism". Measures basically believed in strength very similar to gravity, which influenced every animated and inanimate object, including everything from whole planets to single insects. They thought that this power could actually heal people if they were used correctly. This group included Benjamin Franklin, an American scientist, statesmen and inventors. In the end, they found that there was no real evidence that Mesmerism would heal someone. They felt that most of the reported achievements came from something similar to placebo, where people believe they will improve, so the mind creates a feeling of recovery.

During their medical sessions, the intermediates used many different techniques. Sometimes they wouldn't want people to hold rods attached to magnetized objects or immerse in a pot of reversing fluids. During these sessions youHe formed a Mesmer with his behavior and mannerisms a special kind of emotionally charged atmosphere. Some people felt they were trying to manipulate people to believe that something was going on by connecting their emotions.

Over the years, various modern occult movements have accepted many ideas for mesmerism. Some of the interpretations do not believe in the science that Mesmer defended, but thinks that his method works for other reasons. Some of these reasons include spiritualism and clairvoyant. There are others who believe that Mesmer simply describes many principles as astrologers, which is ancient practice. The astrological connection is particularly remarkable with the concept of planets and stars that are able to influence people's lives and health.

Some people feel that even if mesmerism was largely based on the placebo effect, it should not necessarily be released. Science has shown that the placebo effect can be very strong and someExperts think it can be an important part of healing efforts. When people believe they receive medicines, sometimes their bodies will react as if they had already received it. It is assumed that this is due to reflex and can cause strong physiological effects. It was even discussed whether it was intentionally using the placebo effect.
