What is white Russian?

White Russian is a cocktail that is made with vodka, coffee liqueur and milk or cream. The origin of the name of the drink is probably related to the presence of vodka, traditionally Russian alcohol. Related drink, black Russian, precede white Russian and contains similar ingredients. White Russians are often available in bars and are also very easy to mix at home and require no special tools or skills. To create a white Russian, pieces of ice fall into a glass before vodka, coffee liqueur and cream pour. Upon completion, the drink tends to stand in layers, with a clean vodka on the bottom and a cream floating on top. The drinker may decide that the cream is slowly stirring before drinking. Some bartenders can use TIA Maria, another known brand or a completely different liqueur, depending on personal selection and availability. Since Kamlúa and coffee liqueurs generally tend to be very sweet, white Russian is usually very sweet, with a rich taste of cream. Lighter milk is sometimes used to drinkOJ was less heavy and it is also possible to use non -dairy alternatives, although some may behave strange when they are mixed with alcohol.

It seems that the origin of white Russia lies in the sixties, when the drink first began to develop along the west coast of the United States. Since then, numerous variations of the drink have been developed. The name was probably taken from the black Russian, drink with vodka and coffee liqueur, but without cream; "White" is a link to the cream color of the finished drink. This beverage should not be confused with white Russians, the Bolshevik movement, which was active during the Russian Civil War.

Traditionally, the White Russian ratio is 1: 1: 1, which means that one part of each component is added. The levels of components naturally lead to a stronger, sweeter or creamy drink depending on which ingredients are modified. White Russians are not usually decorated and are generally considered after a drink for dinnerBecause of their sweets and wealth.
