What is ballet?

Ballet today is very different from its origin. Originally the term was used for Renaissance dances of the Italian court. Only men performed because every form of acting was considered shameful for women. Men dressed as women danced female parts. Although the ballet is often considered French, the first was danced in Italy. However, as his development proceeded, the French became innovators of modern form.

French forms of ballet presented dance for men and women. Female dancers were still rare. Many of the movements of the modern form come from the French introduction of court ballet by Catherine de Medici in the 15th century. Because of the female dress, men's movements were more important than women's movements. The female leg movement was barely seen under their long skirts. Full skirts, complicated wigs and later corsets were further hampered by women's dance. The high heels worn by men and women have reduced jumping because the landing was uncertain.

In the 16th century, a professional dance was createdEuction companies. Acadamie Royal de Musique Jean Baptiste Lully is still still, but the company has still trained courtgans and professionals. Performances on the stages of a radically changed ballet. Previously, viewers watched dancers from three sides. Now the audience was sitting in front of the stage, which meant changes in choreography to show dancers, as seen from one angle.

Later in the century, dancers became more acceptable. Two competing dancers, Marie Ann Cupis de Carmago and Marie Sale are attributed to a change in form for women. Salle picked up their hemlines so people could see her leg. Carmago focused on athleticism showing jumps that were facilitated when it removed the heels of the shoes.

Ballet was often part of the opera, which is not now. In the 19th century, modern form appears in la sylphide . Romantic ballet is the first to present dancers in Toe Shoes (en pointe). MArie Taglioni is credited first to use EN POINTE. Lifts, jumps and holding are characteristic of romantic form and shoes have lent the etheric quality female dancers who often depicted fairies or other mythical creatures.

In the 20th century, all countries practiced ballet worshiped by Margot Fonteyn, who danced in Tutu, a costume that was first developed at the end of the 19th century. The dance parts have now performed the same difficult parts for men and women, and the term "Prima ballerinas" began to be used, which means the female star of the dance society. The term of the main dancer is now often preferred before the Prima ballerinum, because the second term tends to represent something similar to snobbery. In America, a dance company created by George Balanchine an extremely inspired ballet. The Russians had a great influence on dance with the times of Ballet Russ.

Today, the ballet is to be seen in many different forms. One sees modern dances choreographed for very modern music, but many stillThey prefer the traditional type of legs in performances as "Swan Lake". The ballet interprets music through various accepted movements. More modern forms may include elements from other dance traditions, but traditionalists consider this to be contamination of this centuries old art form. From a historical point of view, however, the ballet has always been in the flow and the current form is few older 100 years.

Fantastic male dancer, such as Mikhail Barashnikov, supported the interest in this dance form at the end of the 20th century. His work was a completely stunning and predecessor of the amazing work of Ethan Stiefel, considered one of the best male artists today. The Americans became ballet after the release of the film, the turn of turnover in the 1970s, with Baryshnikov. Newer film, Center Stage Tiefel, as well as Sascha Radetsky, another stunning male dancer. The film is an excellent inner view of the world of ballet, based on a film formula similar to 42. Street.

Ballet dance is particularly difficult for a woman. Women must be very thin and look almost a girl's figure, causing an epidemic of anorexia and bulimia among dancers. This has led to the fact that several companies have set instructions for monitoring the weight of the dancers and more carefully monitored, as signs of these eating disorders. However, most of the dancers acknowledge that despite this alert, eating disorders are still uncontrollable and complicate what is otherwise beautiful artistic form.
