What happens in a geothermal plant?
Geothermal plant is a plant that uses natural energy found in the country to make an electricity converting, which can then be transported for use in industries and residence through electric lines. While technology is relatively new, geothermal energy, in one form, people have used for centuries. Since people are constantly looking for better and cleaner forms of energy, it is likely to be even more crucial in the future. Once there, it is directed to a turbine that turns friction. This friction creates electricity. Unlike traditional forms of energy plants that can produce carbon dioxide or harmful nuclear waste, the geothermal plant produces very little, if any, harmful by -products. Usually only steam is produced.
However, this can be achieved in several different ways. They are three basic types of geothermal power plants, each using a slightly different process to use this geothermal energy.Although this basic concept may change slightly, depending on the process used, the basic assumption remains the same. The selected process often depends on the location and type of geothermal energy produced.
The simplest form of geothermal plant is known as a dry steam power plant. This type of plant uses a steam that naturally comes up through the channel, and then uses this steam to turn the turbine. Any excess steam then relaxes into the atmosphere where it becomes water vapor. Some of them remain in the atmosphere and some may return to the ground, depending on surface conditions.
Another form of geothermal plants is known as Flash power plant. This type of plant draws water heated under the earth's surface and then separated by the surface into steam and hot water. Steam is then used to turn the turbine while the rest is re -inserted into the ground in a tight type of loop Systememu.
The second type of system, which has only recently become a possibility, is called a binary geothermal system. This system uses geothermally heated water to warm up another liquid that is kept separately from the water. This additional liquid has a much lower boiling point than water and can therefore be heated at temperatures of up to 150 Fahrenheit (65.5 Celsius). Steam made from this other liquid activates the turbine. In some cases, the binary plant can be combined with a flash steam plant, creating a hybrid geothermal plant.
