Yueju Opera (Cantonese Opera) Yueju Opera (Cantonese Opera) is an opera style popular in Guangdong, Guangxi, Hong Kong, Macau and wherever overseas Chinese are found in Southeast Asia. It originated in the city of Shaoxing in the neighboring Zhejiang Province in the mid-19th century during the late-Qing Dynasty (1644 -1911). Shaoxing Opera is particularly popular south of the Yangtze River and combines classical singing, dancing and acting. It is sung and read in Guangzhou dialect. Guang Ming Theatre Guangzhou Opera House The Guangzhou Opera House, one of the biggest cultural projects in Guangzhou. The opera house, which will cover an area of 46,000 square meters, is expected to go into operation at the end of 2007. With an estimated investment of RMB 1 billion (US$120 million), the project is expected to become the biggest performing centre in South China and to be one of the three biggest theatres in the nation. The Guangzhou opera house will have 1,800 seats and a multifunctional digital hall with an area of 2,500 square meters. The opera house will meet the needs of various performances after its completion, including large-scale operas, enabling residents in the city to enjoy fine arts.

King Mausoleum Museum, located on Jiefang Bei Road, is the
oldest and largest Han tomb with the most funerary objects

of the tomb is the second king, Zhao Mei of Nanyue State of
the Western Han Dynasty (206 BC - 24 AD). As one of the 80
most famous museums in the world, the museum covers 14,000
square meters (150, 699.6 square feet) with 10 exhibition halls.
