also known as a development assistant or fundraising coordinator, development coordinator helps organize efforts for fundraising, often for non -profit organization, university or other company that has the development department. Development coordinator provides administrative assistance in these fundraising efforts, such as planning special events and coordination of donors, sponsors and volunteers. The development coordinator usually works with a development team that may also include special events planner, marketing or communication officer and development manager. Development coordinators are usually responsible for sending invitations to events, monitoring RSVPs and working as the first contact point for the public who have questions about this event. The coordinator can also be responsible for reservation of the venue of action, entertainment and food, as well as organizing events such as silent auctions and raffles. In addition to providing assistance to the event itself, the coordinator can also provide assistance to the committee forPlanning in phases before the event. For example, in an organization relying on volunteer committees to help plan events, the development coordinator can help coordinate these committees by reserving data, venue and refreshments, as well as for the purpose of registration.
While development coordinators are usually not directly responsible for negotiating sponsorship arrangements, they help to facilitate the sponsorship process. For example, a development manager is usually responsible for focusing on other organizations that could benefit from exposure and advertising that comes from sponsoring a special fundraising event. The one organization agrees that it sponsor a special action or otherwise provides a gift, collects the development coordinator and records funds and oversees that the organization receives an agreed exhibition on the materials of events. Depending on the size and requirements of the Development Department, the development coordinator may also act as an executive assistant to the director or head of the department. This role usually includes responsibilities as the schedule management and the itinerary of the Department Head. It may also include answering the e -mail and phone of the development manager and acting as a general guard.
