What is the fibular sessamoid?

Fibular sesamoid is one of the two small bones, located along the underside of the first metatarsofallangal joint in the leg, the joint on the base of the large finger. Along with the tibial sesamoid, it is planted between the tendon fibers passing through the joint, the tendon flexor hallucis brevis (FHB). At the same time, these bones hold the tendon of the FHB and the tendon of the muscle Flexor Halucis Longus (FHL), which acts as a pulley on the joint to bend or curl a large finger down, then from the joint.
