What is the rast test?

Test Rast is a simple blood test that helps identify the source of allergy. While the name is an abbreviation for the radioallergosorbent, the rast test is also sometimes referred to as an allergen-specific IgE antibody test. In general, this type of test is used when it is suspected of food allergy, as evidenced by the occurrence of a rash or eczema. It can also serve as a precursor of more specific blood tests when a chronic allergic response, such as white blood cell differential, eosinophil number or the number of basophiles is indicated. The Rast Test is also a standard alternative to introducing a suspicious allergen directly to the patient by testing for a skin prick, which can cause a serious reaction.

The rast test mechanism is quite simple. First, the test is designed to detect the presence of immunoglobulin E (IgE), the class of antibodies produced by the immune system to weigh with the attacking allergen and trigger the release of the inflammatory mediator, Hitamoj. Although it is a meter in itselfNé, the amount of IgE antibodies specific to allergens, which are focused on binding to certain allergens, are interesting because it indicates which specific substance (features) the patient is most likely allergic.

To perform a test physician or techniques, the blood sample draws from the patient. The suspicious allergen is then added to the blood sample in vitro . The blood sample is then rinsed to allow only IgE antibodies specific to allergens that have associated with the allergen to stay. Furthermore, a dose of radioactive anti-II generated from patients known to be allergic to the criminal substance is added to the test sample. Finally, the level and concentration of bound antibodies of IgE-specific for allergen is measured.

The positive rast test, defined by the increased IGES, suggests that allergies are really present. However, there are other conditions under which it may be positiveu result. For example, a patient who has “overgrown” allergy can continue to test the same allergen for several years. It is also important to realize that a positive result is not necessarily convincing. In addition, while the increased concentration of allergens of specific IGES may indicate allergy, it does not dictate the severity of the allergic reaction.

The

test rast was developed in the 70s of the Swedish pharmaceutical company. Since then, it has been adapted to a newer version known as the IgE Imunocap test, or a short CAP RAST test. This blood test, which is considered more accurate than its predecessor, is also the only IgE -specific IgE IgE to approve food and drug management in the US.
