What is a Vein Bypass?
The great saphenous vein bypass is the "aortic-coronary great saphenous vein bypass", commonly known as "bypass". In 1967, Garrett used the great saphenous vein to perform left anterior descending shunt transplantation and gradually applied it to the treatment of cases of refractory angina pectoris, acute myocardial infarction, severe ventricular arrhythmia, and recurrent stenosis after catheter balloon dilation.
