Are there evidence of dome of driveby?

There were considerable speculation accusing users of digg of kicking Driveby - kicking without actually reading stories that are interconnected. We conducted a little more research and maybe you are surprised what we revealed.

We know about one webmaster who says that even after his website came across Digg effect , his post continued to receive Digg. His site was completely inaccessible for more than an hour, but its number of Digg was growing rapidly. He interpreted it as evidence that many stories of Diggers Digg, even if they did not read them. Although it is probably accurate, we decided that we need a little more evidence of kicking Driveby.

To collect the required data, we spent some time with Digg Spy and tracking Digg activity in real time. We checked all of the check boxes except "View Dagg Stories". Even with these restrictions, the new lines are added at about one in about two seconds (even faster in the busy times of the day).

Even if the net canIt qualifies as absolute evidence, we think that the next screenshot (taken at 18:44 PST 10. April 2007) serves as a great illustration of Driveby kicking. By clicking on a miniature for a larger view:

You may be surprised to learn that "Kevinrose", founder of Digg, DugG three stories in this single film! When you think about how quickly this page is updated, it seems likely that Kevin Rose himself committed a diving. Also note that two other users DUGG two stories in this short time. We are convinced that even with an internet connection to an empty stories, it would not be possible to read three stories and then dig in such a short time. Although it is possible that users will read stories and return to Digg to do kicking, we do not consider it too likely.

Myth: credible - Driveby kicking is probably quite common.
