His teaching and research interests are mainly in semantics, cognitive linguistics, and English language research.

A total of 32 academic papers in this field have been published in various journals, including Foreign Literature Research, Journal of Foreign Languages, Journal of Sichuan University of Foreign Languages, Foreign Languages and Foreign Language Teaching, and Journal of Wuhan University. He presided over and participated in the completion of each provincial and ministerial level project, and participated in the research work of the "National Tenth Five-Year" educational science planning project "The rigidity in the process of foreign language learning of Chinese college students and the reform of the foreign language education system. He is currently chairing a humanities and social science research project of the Education Department of Hubei Province.
