What is Lion's Mane Mushroom?

Lion's Mane Fungus is an edible sponge. Many practitioners of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) believe that it has valuable healing properties in promoting stomach diseases and cancer on the digestive system. In the West, it is often called a medicinal fungus, a lion mane, or Hericium erinaceus , is also known by other names, including bearded fungi, hedgehog and pom. Some recent scientific studies suggest that some Lion's Mane mushroom compounds may also have antioxidant properties that stimulate nerve cells in the animal's brains. In some neurological scientific studies, two groups of active compounds of fungi, erinacins and heridians have shown, perhaps stimulating the nervous growth factor (NGF). NGF is a protein vital for the health of nerve cells or neurons that regulate information into the brain, such as sensory perception, such as touch, temperature or pain. It turned out that adult mice subjugated to NGF removing experiments from their brains are developing conditions reminiscent of dementia foundin people.

Predictory Study in 2004 on Human Volunteers in Japan Gunma Prefecture was performed in a rehabilitation hospital for elderly patients suffering from degenerative neurological disorders such as Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease or spinal cord damage. All patients received a 0.176oz (5 g) of their soup every day for six months. Scientists' involvement in the study concluded that six out of seven patients showed a demonstrably greater capacity for sensory perception than before the experiment began. Although the results were considered promising, many more extensive studiion's MANE sponges must be carried out scientifically and definitive. A doctor should be consulted before using any supplement in the wellness program.

lion mane The sponge grows in the wild in North America, Europe, China and Japan. Located on mrigid trunks of hardwood trees, such as oak or maple, often at the end of summer and can be identified by its round shape and many mines growing long disputes that resemble narrow teeth or animal hair. Although Lion's Mane's fungus is considered completely safe and edible, it should not be managed or eaten by any mushrooms found in the wild, if the expert absolutely identifies it as ruthless or harmless.
