What Is the Treatment for Apical Ballooning Syndrome?
Apical balloon-like degeneration syndrome, also known as stress cardiomyopathy, Tako-Tsubo syndrome, is an acute dilated cardiomyopathy induced by psychological or physical stress. Its early manifestations are: apical systolic dysfunction, no coronary stenosis seen on coronary angiography, and ventricular angiography suggesting that the apical-middle heart cavity is enlarged and basal stenosis is seen during systole. The incidence of older women is higher than that of older men.
