What are confectionery?
confectionery are a general class of food that contains any number of "sweets". Regional differences may lead to some things to be classified as confectionery in one area, but not in another, and there are a number of sweet foods or foods that some people may consider to consider part of this class and others may not. In general, it is sweets that do not easily consume a spoon, forks or knives - with a few exceptions. In America, for example, the term candy is widely used to describe most confectionery, although it usually skips things like pastries and ice cream. In many other English -speaking countries such as Ireland and the United Kingdom, the term sweets can be used to refer to more or less class. It should be noted, for example, that while confectionery e ry refers to the sweet, confectioner and ry is where sweets are sold.

It should also be noted that while confectionery is generally defined as sweets that can be consumed without tools, there are several that violate this rule. For example, a meringue is almost always consumed with tools of some kind, but most people also consider it confectionery. There are few exceptions, but there are.
