What is a heating hose?
The heater hose is a rubber hose used in cars and transports hot coolant to the heater core. The heater hoses connect to the water pump and the heating core, located next to the firewall on most vehicles. When the hot coolant passes through the heater core, the fan circulates the air through the core that heats the air and distributes it in the cabin of the car.
Over time, as with most rubber products, the heater hose could become fragile due to extreme heat and its age. This could cause a heater hose failure, causing the engine coolant to escape and overheat the engine. To prevent this, the owners of vehicles should be checked every year for cracks, swollen areas or distribution that could lead the heating hose to failure. The hose should be replaced if necessary.
The engine should be allowed to cool completely before one tries to check or replace the heating hose. Extreme exposureA hot cooolant causes serious injury. The radiator coolant should be processed carefully because it is very poisonous.
Before one tries to replace the heater hose, the coolant should be drained from the whole system. The radiator will have a petcock or valve located near the lowest point, and should be released so that the coolant can drain into a pan or bucket. One should immediately dispose of the old coolant in a safe way. This prevents coolant leakage to the ground, where it can encounter pets and other small animals.
If you want to replace the heater hose, the pressure valve on the radiator cap should be released to relieve any remaining pressure, and then remove the lid. The hose clamp that holds the heater hose at the water pump outlet should be released and the hose should be removed. If the coolant is presentOn the heating hose, there should be exhaustion and immediately discarded.
a good clamp that holds the heater hose on the heater fitting hose should then be released. The core of the heater is very fragile, so pulling, pulling or twisting could damage the heater core, causing it to leak the coolant and lead to a very expensive repair. The knife or razor blade should be used to cut off the hose from the inlet/outlet tube from the heating core and the hose should be finely removed.
One should then use the appropriate sealant and lubricant for the input/output tubes on the water pump and the heater core and install a new hose. Petcock on the radiator should be closed and the coolant system should be complemented by a suitable coolant. The car should be tested to increase the engine temperature and can then be checked for leaks.
